Doncaster Mental Health Housing Support
We deliver support in a person-centred way by promoting independence, social inclusion and wellbeing.
The Mental Health Floating Support Service is available for adults with a recognised mental health need. Individuals must also meet the following criteria:
- Be age 18 or above
- Have a need for housing related support
- Be willing to complete a support plan and work together with us and other related agencies
- Live in the Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council area
Other agencies can refer into the service and the individual must consent to the referral to enable the assessing officer to check third party information to assess risk. All referrals will be acknowledged within 3 working days and initial assessment carried out within 10 days, subject to receipt of risk information and client availability.

Our support staff can provide assistance with:
- Establishing and maintaining tenancies
- Applying for benefits and other services
- Managing finances or reducing debts
- Accessing employment, education, training or work experience
- Developing coping strategies
- How to avoid crisis in health and wellbeing
- Ways to improve self-esteem and build on strengths
- Developing life and daily living skills
- Increasing confidence and independence
- Engaging with the community
