The Linney Community Care Centre

Activities include community-led groups, e.g. art, gentle exercise, traditional day care, social activities, self-help and support services and educational courses. Dependent upon an assessment, free bathing facilities are available for people with mobility restrictions.   

Who is it for? 

Everyone, but mostly older and vulnerable people living in the Doncaster Borough.   

When does it take place? 

In general Mondays to Fridays, between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, but some activities do run through the evenings and weekends. Specific details of these are available on request.  A  small weekly subscription may be charged by each individual group.  Room hire is applicable, with evenings and weekend hire also available on request.

What's on at the centre?

Councillor’s Surgery | Held on the first Tuesday of each month, 1 pm - 2 pm.

It's About Art | A social activity group who like to meet for a chat and share their art skills.   We have regular art workshops and art-related trips out during the year.  Beginners and more accomplished artists are all welcome.  A small weekly subscription applies, Wednesdays, 12 noon - 3 pm.

Knit and Natter - Balby | A social activity group who like to meet for a chat and a cuppa and share their knitting skills.  All welcome.  Small weekly subscription.  Thursday, 11.00am - 12.30pm. 

WASP’S Social Group | Social activity group who meet for a friendly chat and to enjoy bingo. New members welcome.  Small weekly subscription.  Mondays,  1.30pm - 3pm.

Motor Neurone Disease Support Group Support Group | For people with Motor Neurone disease.  Free- Meet quarterly. 

Gentle Exercise | A small community-led group specifically with chair-based exercise to promote improved joint mobility.  Meeting on Thursdays 09:45 - 10:45 and a small weekly fee applies

Foot Clinic | Foot Clinics are held fortnightly on Fridays. Treatments are £25 for 45 minutes, by appointment only.  Please ring for further information or to book an appointment.

Diabetes Peer Support Group | Free support and advice for those who have, or know someone who has Diabetes. Last Thursday of each month 2:00 - 3:00 pm
