Activ8 Camps
Exceed Learning Partnership
Craft activities will include creating our own ‘new year’ celebration crafts.
We are also updating our nutrition burst resources which are intended to be short 30 minute max activities which allow children to develop their understanding of nutritional information and facts.
These will almost be an extension of our children’s choice resources, again empowering staff to feel confident in delivering these short workshops.
These may be seated, craft base activities designing our eat well plates, or physical practical activities such as active quizzes, this or that and true or false which again adds into children’s physical activity minutes each day.
We will evidence this through photographs and videos.
Children will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of physical activities, including dodgeball, nerf wars and invasion games activities, with a Christmas/winter theme to the activities. Physical activity is the lynch pin of the camps, and every day children will participate in a minimum of 60 minutes.
We will be offering opportunities to our Sports Leaders/students to volunteer at our camp settings to further enhance their education, and their experience in the working world.
We will also be partnering with Doncaster Toll Bar ARLFC to provide free rugby workshops at our camps, who are a local grass roots club to Bentley and to signpost how children can join the club.
We are currently exploring partnerships with Warmsworth Cricket Club and Edlington White Stars FC, to either provide workshops, signpost resources or both.
We will be sharing resources from Doncaster Mind charity, to promote positive mental health, and to signpost support options where needed
We will be sharing resources and signposting to the Edlington Community Organisation (ECO), and the Bentley Baptist Church (BBC) foodbank to provide guidance and advice on accessing support with food. We will be exploring if there is a possibility of volunteers coming in to answer any questions for parents.
Finally, we have received free simple menu ideas from Doncaster organisation Cook Stars, that will be shared with families.
All resources will be compiled together in an A5 brochure, for families to easily access.
