Join Right Up Our Street for their 6th Doncaster Festival of Light, a free cultural event for the community of Doncaster. They strive to push boundaries and deliver a unique high quality event that we can all be proud of. This is about audiences connecting to joy, embracing experiences and participatory moments. Right Up Our Street are thrilled to announce that this year's central artwork will be a bespoke installation by renowned artist Morag Myerscough.

About the Artist
Morag Myerscough is known for her vibrant installations and immersive spatial artworks that transform spaces and encourage public interaction. Her recent projects include “Dancing in the Sky” for Coachella and “Love Letters” for the Paris Olympic & Paralympic Games. Get ready to experience her unique vision right here in Doncaster!

Event Details
The Doncaster Festival of Light runs from 15th November to 24th November, each evening from 5 PM to 9 PM at the Minster Church of St George. This is a free but ticketed event, please book ahead of time to ensure everyone can enjoy this experience. Tickets are available in half-hour slots.

This year, Right Up Our Street introducing an option to leave a donation. All contributions directly support the delivery of our free, charity-led events. We suggest a donation of £2 per ticket.

Accessibility
Right Up Our Street believe in making our festival accessible to everyone. Access slots are available every day, and they will also have British Sign Language (BSL) days on 15th November and 23rd November.

Here are the details for disabled access at The Minster:

  • Toilets: Accessible toilets are available onsite.
  • Baby Changing: Facilities are also available onsite.
  • Parking: While parking is not allowed onsite, we recommend St George’s Car Park for accessible parking nearby the Minster.
  • Entrance: The entrance to the Minster is ramped for wheelchair users.
  • Assistance Dogs: Assistance dogs are welcome at the Minster.

Right Up Our Street will have a BSL Interpreter onsite for the below dates.

  • Friday 15th November
  • Saturday 23rd November

WHO MAKES THE DONCASTER FESTIVAL OF LIGHT HAPPEN?
Right Up Our Street working collaboratively with our community Festival Steering Group. This ensures that programming is relevant and led by the community of Doncaster.

Right Up Our Street is about people in Doncaster choosing, making, seeing and sharing great art, music, theatre, film, dance, radio, poetry, and more.

Need to Return Your Tickets?
Right Up Our Street ask that if you can no longer attend your slot that you let us know by emailing hello@rightupourstreet.org.uk with your name and ticket reference so your space can be allocated to another attendee.

How Do I Get There?
The Minster is a 7 minute walk from the Doncaster Interchange and a 6 minute walk from Doncaster Market.
There are several car park options in the City Centre that are available. Below is a list near the area of the Minster.

  • The Markets Car Park (5 Minute Walk to the Minster).
  • Grey Friars Road Car Park (3 Minute Walk to the Minster).
  • Friars Gate Car Park (4 Minute Walk to the Minster).
  • The Frenchgate Centre Car Park (5 Minute Walk to the Minster).


WHERE CAN I ACCESS FOOD & DRINK?
The Minster will be serving Tea and Coffee in their Café inside the building. The Doncaster Wool Market is a 5 Minute walk from the Minster and has a fantastic offer of food and drink available. You can access their Facebook Page here.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?
Access dogs are welcome onsite, however due to the limited visibility within Doncaster Minster we sadly aren’t able to accommodate dogs.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILMING ONSITE
Please note that photography and filming will take place during the festival. The material may be used in social media, in promotional videos and other publicity materials, both off and online. If you do not wish to appear in Right Up Our Street promotional materials, or have any other queries or concerns, please speak to a member of the Right Up Our Street Team.

WEATHER
Due to our artworks being situated inside The Minster, wet weather should not impact our event. However if you are concerned we will make any announcements regarding changed to delivery on our social media.
