Earth Day 2025 - Our Power, Our Planet
School Art Exhibition at Danum Gallery, Library, and Museum.
The City of Doncaster Council, DGLAM, and students from local primary schools are pleased to invite you to visit the art exhibition organised as part of the celebration of Earth Day 2025.
This exhibition will be open from noon on 15 April until 3 May. It features a selection of artworks created by pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6 from primary schools across Doncaster.
The theme for Earth Day this year, Our Power, Our Planet, highlights the transformative potential of renewable energy and clean electricity in shaping a sustainable future. It emphasises how adopting greener sources can help combat climate change, protect ecosystems, and ensure a healthier planet for future generations.
Renewable energy – such as solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal – is central to this vision. Unlike fossil fuels, these sources are naturally replenished and do not emit greenhouse gases, making them crucial in the fight against climate change. By transitioning to clean energy, communities can lower carbon emissions, improve air quality, and safeguard natural resources.
The works on display include a range of media and techniques. They reflect how young people understand and interpret topics such as clean electricity, solar and wind energy, and the need to move towards more sustainable ways of living.
The exhibition aims to raise awareness of environmental issues while giving pupils the opportunity to express their ideas and inspire us all to act.
