End of Summer events blaze on in Doncaster

‘Summer isn’t over yet in Doncaster’ – that’s the message from the City of Doncaster Council’s Visit Doncaster team as an action-packed calendar of late summer events is launched.

As the summer winds down, Doncaster is turning up the heat with a campaign showcasing a series of unmissable events in the city throughout September.  Visit Doncaster is inviting residents and visitors alike to dive into an action-packed month of entertainment and culture in their Summer Memories calendar.

From the lively DN One Live music event to the prestigious St Leger Festival, September in Doncaster promises something for everyone. Whether you’re a fan of live music, thrilling horse racing, or community activity, this is your ultimate guide to a fun-filled month in the city.

Featured Events Include:

  • DN One Live (6-8th September) – A free event to celebrate live music across three days in Sir Nigel Gresley Square. Expect great vibes, fantastic talent and unforgettable performances.
  • Heritage Open Days (6th – 15th September) Take part in free events, talks, walks and workshops to celebrate the richness and variety of heritage in Doncaster.
  • St Leger Festival (12-15th September) – The world’s oldest classic and most iconic horse racing event returns to Doncaster Racecourse. With stylish attire, top-tier racing, and socialising aplenty, the St Leger Festival remains a highlight on the city’s calendar.
  • Lampadophores outside Cast (27th September) – Don’t miss this free outdoor event at Cast. Lampadophores is a magical spectacle featuring eight giant, inflatable puppets, each with their own personality and will lead a procession and interact with the crowds of Doncaster. The event is perfect for families and anyone looking for an unforgettable night of creativity and community spirit.
